Mercury Book

Fintech company Mercury has launched Mercury Books, a tool that automatically pulls in data from banks, cards, payroll, and processors like Stripe, PayPal and Gusto, then uses AI to categorize and reconcile transactions without manual work.

“With Mercury Books, you can finally have your books and your banking in one place, it just makes sense”. Chris P., Founder of Ridgewood Said.

This Means no more waiting weeks after month-end for a bookkeeper’s spreadsheet to find out where the money went. MercuryBooks works in real time, so your numbers are current the moment a transaction hits your account.

Mercury’s Integration owns banking, IO card, bill pay, and invoicing all plug directly into Books, meaning transactional data flows in and gets sorted automatically.

Sitting inside Books is Mercury Command, the company’s AI agent, which lets founders ask plain-language questions like “what changed since last month?” or “what’s my cash position?” instead of digging through reports themselves.

“Businesses can bring their own accountant or use one of Mercury’s pilot partners, including Pilot, Fondo, and Ridgewood”. There’s also a white-glove migration path for founders switching from QuickBooks or Xero.

For now, Books supports only basic accrual accounting, including accounts receivable and payable, while Mercury’s Gusto integration handles both cash and accrual basis. Adjusting entries can be made manually. Features like deferred revenue and prepaid expenses aren’t supported yet, though Mercury says more is coming.

It’s Mercury’s clearest signal yet that it wants to be more than a business bank, it wants to own the whole financial back office.

Mercury Demo is available until January 1st, 2027 and then $35Monthly.
