GITEX AI Kazakhstan Puts Almaty on the Global Tech Map

Central Asia just got its biggest technology moment. GITEX AI Central Asia & Caucasus Kazakhstan debuted in Almaty on May 4–5, 2026, uniting the world’s largest technology network with one of the fastest-growing digital economies on the planet. The inaugural event was more than a conference it was a declaration that the region is ready to compete on the global innovation stage.
A Region Entering a New Era
The two-day GITEX AI Kazakhstan brought together 336 tech enterprises and startups, more than 100 investors, and over 200 speakers from 50 countries, including government officials, industry experts, and private sector representatives. The investor community in attendance was no small contingent either their combined portfolio under management exceeds $200 billion.
The GITEX AI Kazakhstan Almaty Central Asia tech hub moment carries serious strategic weight. The event focused on three priority sectors: artificial intelligence and its integration into urban environments and business, GovTech showcasing Kazakhstan’s achievements in digital government services, and cybersecurity solutions in data protection and cloud computing. Over the two days, more than 50 Kazakh startups participated in GITEX for the first time, showcasing the country’s growing innovative potential to a global audience.
Almaty Mayor Darkhan Satybaldy positioned the city as GITEX’s entry point into Central Asia, opening new opportunities for international cooperation, investment attraction, and the promotion of technology startups. Supporting the ambition further, plans are underway to launch the Almaty AI Hub in November, covering 10,000 square metres, with a larger Almaty AI Park planned on a 7-hectare site.
Kazakhstan is now firmly on the GITEX global map and the region is just getting started.
