Crusoe’s $3B funding round has landed at a fresh $30 billion valuation, Bloomberg reports. The AI data center developer closed the $3 billion round with backing from Atreides Management and Valor Equity Partners. Mubadala Capital, the investment arm of Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth fund, also joined the round. Consequently, Crusoe now ranks among the most valuable privately held AI infrastructure firms. The company builds hyperscale data centers for major clients like Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI.

Notably, Crusoe recently signed a $13 billion cloud contract with trading firm Jane Street. That five-year deal supplies Jane Street with GPUs and AI infrastructure for quantitative trading. As a result, investor appetite for Crusoe’s growth story has clearly intensified. Furthermore, this new round more than triples Crusoe’s valuation from just ten months ago. Back then, Crusoe raised $1.38 billion at a $10 billion valuation last October.

Meanwhile, Crusoe has also met with bankers at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. Those talks reportedly explore a potential near-term IPO for the company, according to TechCrunch. Interestingly, Crusoe started out in 2018 as a crypto mining operation. It ran on flared natural gas before pivoting fully into AI cloud services. Today, the company stands as proof of how fast AI has reshaped infrastructure investing.

Indeed, data center valuations across the industry have surged as demand for compute grows. As previously reported by Glostarep, rival operator Switch also chased a similar valuation jump. Overall, Crusoe’s trajectory shows no signs of slowing as AI demand keeps climbing.
