Illuminate Financial Raises $135M AI Fintech Fund Backed by Global Banks

Illuminate Financial has closed its fourth fund at $135 million, uniting eight of the world’s most powerful financial institutions behind the next wave of Enterprise AI and fintech companies building tomorrow’s financial infrastructure.

The London-based specialist venture capital firm secured the Illuminate Financial $135M AI fintech fund from investors including BNP Paribas, Citi, Deutsche Börse, HSBC, Jefferies, RBC, S&P Global, and TD Securities. The raise signals an unmistakable shift in how institutional giants are choosing to position themselves in the AI era not as observers, but as active backers.

Where the Money Goes

The fund targets Series B+ Enterprise AI and fintech companies at the critical inflection point between proven technology and institutional scale a stage where promising startups either break through or stall. Four investments already have been made: Pliant, a Berlin-based corporate card and spend management platform; TransFICC, the specialist provider of low-latency connectivity for fixed income and derivatives markets; Zocks, a privacy-first AI platform for financial advisors; and Endowus, Asia’s leading independent wealth advisory platform with client assets exceeding $10 billion.

This is Illuminate’s first fund to target the Series B+ stage, a deliberate expansion built on over a decade of early-stage fintech investing. Founded by Mark Beeston in 2014, the firm operates across London, New York, and Singapore, and has now raised $500 million across four funds, invested in 55 companies, and completed 14 successful exits.

Beeston described the close as a vote of confidence in the sector’s long-term potential, noting that the most durable financial infrastructure of the next decade ibeing built right now. BNP Paribas praised Illuminate’s deep understanding of how financial institutions adopt and deploy new technology, calling it closely aligned with their own priorities.

The Illuminate Financial $135M AI fintech fund arrives as demand for enterprise-grade AI tools in financial services accelerates globally, and institutional appetite to co-invest alongside specialized VC firms continues to grow.
